Previous studies have shown somewhat of a contradiction in the effect of sexual appeal advertising on purchase intention. This research aims to examine from an Indonesian perspective the consumer response to sexual appeal advertising and the subsequent purchase intention toward the products advertised. Through advertising, companies seek to be seen as the providers of creative and innovative products. Therefore company success increasingly relies on advertising appeal. One of these appeals is sexual advertising that is considered to be uniquely able to attract the attention of consumers and strengthen the brand with favorable associations. Such appeal eventually influences purchase decisions and stimulates purchase intention. This research uses quantitative methods through a consumer survey and simple regression analysis. Samples included 120 heterosexual men in the 15-24 year age group who reside in Indonesia's third largest city, Bandung. Results show that the consumer response to sexual appeal advertising of AXE is positive and consumer purchase intention of AXE products after watching the " Heaven on Earth " advertisements series is strongly positive. Sexual appeal advertising is shown to have a statistically significant positive effect on Indonesian consumers' purchase intentions.

The purpose of the research is to examine the antecedents and consequences of e-consumer behaviour regarding Facebook advertising in Jordan. As such, a thorough revision of relevant literature in the fields of social psychology, advertising psychology, consumer behaviour and online advertising was conducted to establish the theoretical foundations of this study. On the basis of the literature review, a research framework of consumer attitudes in the Facebook advertising context was constructed. This model explores influences of informativeness, entertainment, and irritation, credibility and personalisation on various online consumer behaviours such as attitude toward the Facebook advertising, Facebook advertising usage, and satisfaction with Facebook advertising. Particularly, usage and satisfaction are explored as the consequences of attitude toward the Facebook advertising, while informativeness, entertainment, and irritation, along with credibility and personalisation are the antecedents of attitude toward Facebook advertising. A conceptual model and hypotheses are tested with a sample of 763 Jordanian Facebook users, and analysed quantitatively. Overall, the findings provided support for the model of the study. All the hypotheses regarding the impact of the factors included in the study on customer attitude, satisfaction and Facebook advertising usage were supported. Moreover, the results of the study indicated that there is a significant relationship between all constructs of the study’s model. More specifically, the findings of the current study indicate that informativeness, entertainment, credibility and personalisation of Facebook advertising have a significant positive influence on consumer attitude as well as satisfaction and usage of such advertising, whereas message irritation was found to have a negative influence on consumer attitude towards Facebook advertising. The current research provides a number of theoretical and practical implications. Firstly, we believe this study is among the first studies to examine the e Jordanian consumer behaviour in the context of Facebook advertising. Therefore, the study adds to and expands our knowledge of the antecedents and consequences of e Jordanian consumer behaviour regarding Facebook advertising. In today’s highly competitive market, marketers have comprehended that consumers are not only surrounded by numerous brands but are also exposed to many different marketing practices that are developed to differentiate these brands from their competitors. This study investigates the impact of comparative advertisements on consumers’ attitude towards ad, attitude towards brand and purchase intention in beverages product category, focusing specifically on fruit juices. We propose that brand familiarity play a moderating role in this relationship. The study is empirical in nature and involved administering a questionnaire to the respondents, prior to which they were shown print ads. Results reveal that the influence of attitude towards the ad on consumers’ attitude towards the brand and purchase intention depends on the familiarity of the sponsor brand. Brand familiarity is found to positively moderate the relationship between attitude towards ad and consumers’ attitude towards brand. The study offers research and managerial implications. Keywords: Comparative ads, Brand familiarity, attitude towards ad, attitude towards brand, purchase intention.
