Life Of Pi Text Review

The movie  Life of Pi dives into the story of Pi Patel, and Indian man who grew up in South India and later, through a crazy story, found his way to the United States. While traveling, his ship carrying zoo animals had sunk, and Pi found himself stuck on a life boat with a zebra and a tiger. The story surrounds his journey on the boat finding his way home. The part of the story I will be diving into however is the beginning, his cultural upbringing. The movie is depicted as an older Pi reflects on his past for a prospective biography writer, which gives Pi a chance to explain how his upbringing had effected how he viewed this adventure both through his culture and religions. Pi had a traditional Indian family structure, growing up working with his father and helping his mother around the home. Pi grows up with great respect and affection towards his brother, Ravi, as well which he explained plays out in the way he treated the animals on the boat with him with a similar type of love. Pi however sometimes had a problem with the way his father had treated the animals he worked with, which was occasionally in a more violent sense, and that aspect of the job was always a struggle for him, which explains the way he would not act violently towards the animals on the boa. Nutritionally, Pi grew up practicing three religions, Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam. This different style of religion sometimes had him an outsider amongst people in India, yet it had also led to a more rooted life and virtues. Moving forward in the movie, it is at times hard to watch the trauma that Pi goes through, and for me personally, watching the aggression of the tiger towards the zebra who in a sense represents Pi, was not pleasant. Knowing that the movie is based on a true story also just keeps the anticipation high throughout the film. Pi goes through many struggles throughout his early life as well as his adventure on the boat, and he discovers a strong identity within himself and who he is, as well as realizing a new sense of self and appreciation for life. I highly recommend this movie if you have not seen it!

The research paper tries to analyze the psychological approach of the character Piscine Molitar Patel that how much Pi Patel achievement for survival fulfill as a common being in unimaginable journey via Maslow theory of motivation or self actualization . That how much Pi surpasses in level of hierarchy and took his self toward his pure inside and on other side the wild side of Pi is the demonstration of Pi self discovery and new experience which leads him toward clarification of his ideas. Where as it is much intensified under symbolic characters and things are actually the disguises of hidden instinct which help him to be subsist in miraculous and exclamatory situation. The thesis statement scrutinize the fantasy imaginative signs, the inherent aptitude power that turns tragic accident into exposure of elevated instinct and discovery of self and faith as a basic longing. Then my thesis further explore few symbolical character or things that work as motivator for Pi specially the role of ocean and Richard parker. Firstly I am going to deal with introductory essential of writers and then under the influence of critics reviews with reference to the thesis statement. Then two main content chapters highlight the psychological and spiritual analysis of character Pi. Next dealing is with survival aid of imagination which Pi creates in new territory of imaginative world. The whole thesis try to analyze the exposure of Pi and also gives analysis of Pi survival attainment with verification of fascinated imagination with lesson of hope, faith, will, dynamism and power of instinct.

The recent debate on cognitive phenomenology has largely focused on phenomenal aspects connected to the content of thoughts. By contrasts, aspects pertaining to their attitude have often been neglected, despite the fact that they are distinctive of the mental kind of thought concerned and, moreover, also present in experiences and thus less contentious than purely cognitive aspects. My main goal is to identify two central and closely related aspects of attitude that are phenomenologically salient and shared by thoughts with experiences, namely the rational role that they play in our mental lives and their determination by factors external to them, such as external objects or reasons. In particular, I aim to defend Phenomenal Rationalism about judgemental thoughts and perceptual experiences: the view that their phenomenal character reflects their rational role, that is, their capacity to provide and/or respond to reasons. I conclude with some remarks about how this view may be extended to other kinds of thought and experience; and about how the phenomenological salience of the specific rational role of individual judgemental thoughts may in fact be used to formulate also an argument for the phenomenological salience of their particular propositional contents.
